Shake 554: A pocket of paradise

October 11, 2011

Megs, Heron Island (Australia), 2002

Heron Island is a tiny paradise. It’s inhabited by only one tranquil resort and a wildlife research station; you can walk around its shores in about 30 minutes (which equals about an hour when you’re in holiday-mode). You swim with huge turtles and watch the multicoloured sea-life during the day, then come back to your waterfront villa where there’s champagne and a cheese platter waiting for you. With only one store on the island, it’s not surprising that everyone comes back with a tan and the same dome!
