Shake 421: The non-Vegas Flamingo

May 31, 2011

Andie, Camargue (France), Jul 2010

It’s a geography lesson today. If you’re like me and generally fail at getting any wedge pieces in Trivial Pursuit, here’s a tidbit of information to squirrel away in that hidden compartment upstairs for the blue wedge. Camargue is a region in Arles, France and about a third of it is lake or marshland. That’s why it’s home to more than 400 species of bird, in particular, these beautiful flamingos.

What was Andie doing there? Taking in a little French sea air on which she describes as an unimpressive grey pebbly beach.
