Shake 337: International Women’s Day

March 8, 2011

My friend Lea has at least 5 new business ideas every time I see her. She’s always looking to be inspired so when she heard SBS’s Insight was celebrating this day with the story of three women and their paths to success, without much effort, we were sitting in the small audience. The founder of a neuro-engineering company in Silicon Valley, the Executive Vice Chairperson of a watch retailer turning over a billion Singapore dollars a year and a Professor of Infectious Diseases working to overcome HIV and the stigma attached to it in Malaysia, told their stories about facing adversity and how it had shaped their lives. It really was truly inspiring.

It airs tonight on SBS, and fingers crossed, any glimpses of us are minimised!
