Shake 136: Bloomin’ magpies
August 19, 2010
Last Spring, my neighbour befriended a pair of huge magpies and their little baby. They were seriously some of the largest black, glossy magpies I’ve seen and they loved to hop by our window now and then, frustrating the cat immensely. I fondly remember the baby’s chirp that lasted all season, but as soon as the chill set in, they were gone.
This morning I looked out the window to see them settling back into her garden waiting for treats, but there are chirps no longer, now there are three massive magpies. Spring is definitely around the corner.

I thought I had better taste than that. I was obviously having an off day. Which reminds me, I still have some domes from the US at my dad’s house waiting for you, which I am telling you, in the hope that you will remind me the next time I see you.

I worked it out on the weekend. I found another dome that looked like it was supposed to be a twin pack with this one! Now a twin-pack of domes sounds more like you doesn’t it?
